It covers eligibility\, required documentation\, enrollment\, available services\, and what to expect while waiting for funding\, as well as alternative supports such as respite care and the DHS Division of Rehabilitation Services Home Services Program. \nPRESENTER \n \n\nJennifer Rowzee\, M. Ed. brings over two decades of dedicated service to individuals with developmental disabilities\, with a career rooted in advocacy\, support coordination\, and person-centered care. She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education and has been an advocate and service provider since 1996. With 13 years of experience as a Pre-Admission Screening agent\, Jennifer has built a reputation for compassion\, professionalism\, and a deep understanding of the systems that support individuals and families. Her earlier role as a Case Manager at a provider agency gave her firsthand insight into the needs of both clients and staff\, laying the foundation for her leadership approach today. \nAs Associate Program Director\, Jennifer leverages her expertise to ensure high-quality service delivery\, promote staff development\, and strengthen community connections. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE!\nFREE: 3 IDFPR CEU for LSW/LCSW\, LPC/LCPC\, Psychologists\, and IAODAPCA (Pending) \n  \nSUMMARY\n \nThis 3-hour training provides a practical\, clinically grounded overview of OCD\, including how it presents across subtypes\, how to differentiate it from other conditions\, and how to identify when referral for specialized treatment is appropriate. \nThe training is designed to help providers feel more confident recognizing OCD in its less obvious forms\, and to better understand the treatment approaches that lead to meaningful change. \nThe goals are to increase provider confidence in identifying OCD across a range of presentations\, improve differentiation between OCD\, anxiety\, and related conditions\, and to support more accurate and timely referrals for evidence-based treatment. \nOBJECTIVES \nParticipants will be able to: \n\nIdentify core features of OCD\, including intrusive thoughts\, compulsions\, and the anxiety-compulsion cycle\nRecognize common OCD subtypes (e.g.\, harm\, relationship\, contamination\, existential\, “pure O”)\nDifferentiate OCD from generalized anxiety\, trauma-related rumination\, and other overlapping presentations\nUnderstand the principles of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and why it is the gold standard treatment\nIdentify when a referral for specialized OCD treatment is appropriate\n\nPRESENTER \nLaura Miller\, LCPC\, R-DMT\, is a licensed clinical therapist\, private practice owner\, and group facilitator specializing in OCD and anxiety. She uses evidence-based approaches\, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)\, to help clients break free from cycles of overthinking\, fear\, and self-doubt. \nLaura is known for her structured\, practical approach and her ability to make complex patterns feel understandable and actionable. Recent writings include: Slipping Through the Cracks: Intervention Strategies For Clients With Multiple Addictions Disorders and Relationship Detox: A Counselors Guide To Helping Clients Develop Healthy Relationships In Recovery. He was lead writer on a trauma informed gun violence prevention curriculum which is being implemented in several large cities in the United States. His groundbreaking monograph Recovery Management co-authored with historians William White and Earnest Kurtz helped shift addictions treatment and recovery from the acute care model solely towards a Recovery Oriented System of Care. Mark has had two stories published in the New York Times bestselling book series\, Chicken Soup for The Soul. \nMark has also had a 30 year career as a university educator having taught at The University of Chicago\, Loyola University of Chicago and Illinois State University School’s of Social Work. He is co-founder of Serenity Academy Chicago\, a program which sponsors recovery-oriented peer groups in local high schools. \n\n
