SUMMARY

Addressing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury, eating disorders, substance use, and school refusal requires a multifaceted approach that integrates support from both school and home settings. This presentation will review some key trends and strategies for effectively tackling these issues. Different presenters will be sharing interventions to use in the school, clinical and home settings.

OBJECTIVES

Participants will learn:

  • An overview of the increasing prevalence of mental health issues among youth and their families
  • The importance of early intervention and support in both school and home settings
  • Strategies for educators, coaches, and parents to effectively intervene with children and teens struggling with emotional and behavioral concerns
